Artist Statement:
The one constant companion in my life has been art. Art has been the mainstay in my life since I was a child. I am always creating.
My primary medium is fabricated silver jewelry. I love to combine metal and stones, contrasting light, opacity and texture in a single piece. My focus is to create jewelry that tells a story. My jewelry is informed by my love of nature and my desire to communicate this to others.
I took my first silversmithing class in college in 1980 and have since completed several university level metal and fine art classes and numerous workshops taught by professionals in my field. My art is always continuing to evolve in new directions as I continue learning new skills.
I am the co-owner of the Salt City Smithery, a full service silversmithing studio and school in Salt Lake City, UT.
