Artist Statement:
Hygge /hoog-uh/, or a feeling of calm, cozy contentment, is a strong part of my Danish culture and is what inspires everything I make. I believe that great art (visual and scent-ual) can create hygge and contribute to our well-being and tranquility. As part of Danish culture and responsible consumption, it’s very important to me to make products that are good for both consumers and the environment. I source and process discarded and donated glass bottles to make soy wax container candles and recycled glass art. All candles are made in Salt Lake City with as much reclaimed materials as possible and with natural, non-toxic ingredients.
