Fin Neato

Artist Statement:

My journey to becoming an artist began with edible art as a chef. When I was invited to participate in the Top Chef, season 12 in Boston, Massachusetts, my life changed completely. It was a thrilling, though stressful experience that lead me from Salt Lake City to cook in tiny Twin Bridges, the fly fishing mecca. The obsession I developed with fly fishing spilled over into painting funky fish in March, 2023. After purchasing acrylic paints to touch up an old family painting, I decided to try painting a fish. A funky, abstract and textured fish appeared on the canvas! I was hooked!! Since starting with acrylic paintings, I've expanded to cards, stickers, ski and fishing neck buffs, and mugs. There is no need to be a fisherman to appreciate the beauty Fin-Neato.
The name FIN-NEATO came from the Italian word 'Finito', a reminder of my Italian father, who loved fishing. My current lifestyle involves half the year cooking on the river in Montana and half snowboarding at Snowbird.
