Field Guide Embroidery
Artist Statement:
Field Guide Embroidery (formerly Jess Embroidery Project) highlights local wildlife and plant species through hand embroidery. I began embroidering wildlife species to bring awareness to their conservation status, fun facts, and to tell stories of viewing them in the wild. Some of my favorite memories in nature are of viewing wildlife species, and to pay homage to those critters, I stitch them. I absolutely love meeting people at markets, and hearing why they may connect to a certain wildlife species as well, so please, come say hi! Stitched on sustainably made headwear, upcycled clothes and gear, or in kits (learn to embroider!), find your favorite animal and wear it with pride.
