Artist Statement:
I discovered the art of wood burning about two weeks into the COVID lockdown. Desperate for a creative hobby to replace pottery, I bought a wood burning starter kit I saw on IG. I was immediately hooked. Now a passion, wood burning is my form of creative expression and meditative practice. Wood burning is an unforgiving art form; there is no eraser. But it is through this process that I have learned to slow down and closely observe the intricate details that together make up the bigger picture and the power of making and sticking to a plan. My work is inspired by the mountains, which is where I spend so much of my time doing the things I love with the people I love.
